RELAXATION MASSAGE It is a misconception that relaxation massage is simply for enjoyment, while deep-tissue work is for specific problems. The goal of relaxation massage may be to induce complete mental and physical relaxation, but it has great therapeutic value, including specific benefits to the muscles through increased circulation and health benefits that result from releasing general tension levels in the body that accumulate due to the stresses of life, physical and emotional. There are many variations in how deep-tissue massage is performed, in terms of both therapeutic goals for the work and how it is practiced. Both for treatment and prevention of a multitude of soft-tissue problems related to acute or chronic conditions, this approach includes the use of several therapy systems directed toward neurophysiological processes that affect the musculo-skeletal system. Alterations or disturbances in the neuromuscular relationship often result in dysfunction and pain. These therapies include, among others, myofascial release/trigger point therapy, neuromuscular therapy (including passive and assisted stretching), and passive positioning therapies. With the client’s agreement, a session may not cover the entire body. Doing spot work allows for careful attention to problem areas rather than spreading the work too thin. The tone of hollow visceral organs is strengthened and the heat produced by the stones reduces excess tension in soft tissue, increases joint mobility and acts as a sedative to the nervous system. This ancient form of natural holistic healing helps to balance and restore all aspects of an individual: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. The Reiki practitioner brings intention and commitment to the process, acting as a compassionate conduit for the universal life force while, by its very nature, Reiki gives the power and control for healing to the receiver, where it rightly belongs. This happens independently of belief system, emotional state or religious preference. Receiving Reiki is deeply relaxing and leaves one with a sense of integration, lightness and inner peace. 1 hour $65.00 1 ½ hours $90.00 RAINDROP TECHNIQUE Raindrop therapy is an essential oil massage technique based on Lakota Native healing that combines the art of aromatherapy with the techniques of reflexology and massage. The application of nine different essential oils to various areas of the body brings balance to the body and helps to align and clear energy centers without using force or excessive pressure. Several of the oils used are antimicrobial in nature and help to reduce the body’s inflammation and destroy any viral presence.
